Certainty in Protection Methods

With the sales growth in the CNC Machining Sector, we have recently seen a jump in inquiries regarding reactive metals and suppressing Class-D Fires in machines.

Firetrace Systems are  is exceptionally effective in protecting machines turning these materials, reacting quickly to suppress the fire in the cooling liquids.

The key to the suppression action, is stopping the fire from getting hot enough to ignite the metals, and both FE-227 (HFC-227ea) and
CO2 are excellent agents for suppressing a fire with an "oil" base.

However, it is critical to remember that non Class-D agents offered by Firetrace Systems are not designed for extinguishing fires in "reactive metals" themselves. At NO time should anyone represent that FE-227 (HFC-227ea), or any other non- Class-D agent, is adequate for suppressing burning metals.

With successful suppressions reported weekly to Firetrace Systems, we are quickly becoming the leading fire solution, for the Machining Industry.

It is important to remember exactly what hazard we are in the process of protecting our assets against.

Please be certain to understand and convey to customers the difference between the oil fires in the machine and burning metals.

If you have any questions or are uncertain about an application, DO NOT hesitate to contact your Firetrace Systems Regional Representative for more information.
