Fire protection for telecommunications equipment

The equipment installed in telecommunications equipment cabinets can present a significant fire risk. Fires can happen when equipment falls prey to faulty electrical connections, short circuits, power surges, malfunctioning power supplies and electrical arcing.

A Firetrace automatic fire suppression system can protect your valuable telecommunications equipment against loss.

Firetrace provides a self-activating standalone fire suppressing solution that detects and suppresses a fire inside of the telecommunications enclosure. Upon detection of fire, the Firetrace system will discharge a “clean” fire-suppressing agent, such as Chemours FM-200 and Novec 1230, which are delivered as a colorless, odorless gas that leaves no residue and requires no cleanup. These clean agents are non-conductive, non-corrosive, and people safe – they are ideal for protecting your mission critical telecommunications equipment.

Because Firetrace takes the fire detection and suppression inside of the hazard, a growing fire can be caught quickly, suppressing the spread of fire to other parts of the building that would require firefighters or water sprinklers to extinguish.

By containing the fire to the individual enclosure damage is limited to that enclosure and the collateral damage often caused by traditional fire suppression is avoided. Firetrace advanced fire suppression systems are critical to maintaining your telecommunications equipment.
