Cloud servers are rapidly becoming an integral part of many companies’ IT infrastructure. With all of the electrical components, power supplies, wires, and cables associated with these applications electrical shorts and electrical fires can be a very real threat that can destroy equipment and increase your maximum tolerable downtime.
A Firetrace automatic fire suppression system can protect your valuable data equipment and data against loss.
The proprietary red Firetrace Detection Tubing (FDT) can be run throughout the cabinet of the cloud server. Firetrace provides a self-activating standalone fire suppressing solution that detects and suppresses a fire inside of the enclosure itself. And because Firetrace systems do not require any electricity to operate it is functional 100% of the time – even if the server power supply is interrupted!
Upon detection of fire, the Firetrace system can discharge “clean” fire-suppressing agents, such as Chemours FM-200 and Novec 1230, which are delivered as a colorless, odorless gas that leaves no residue and requires no cleanup. In addition, these clean agents are non-conductive, non-corrosive, and people safe – they are ideal for protecting your mission critical IT equipment and data.
Firetrace systems are available with an optional pressure switch that can be tied into an emergency power off switch or alarm system to notify you when a fire event occurs. Firetrace also offers a solution where activation can occur through a smoke detector or building alarm (available on Firetrace Indirect Low Pressure systems only).
In addition to in-cabinet fire protection, Firetrace offers advanced E4 Total Flooding Clean Agent systems that are capable of protecting entire rooms in data centers.
