Firetrace International, a leading provider of special hazard fire detection and suppression solutions, today announced the launch of the Firetrace CoolGen™ product line, a new family of nitrogen-based fire suppression systems designed to protect electrical enclosures, e-houses, substations, wind turbines, server rooms, water treatment facilities, ports, and other critical infrastructure.
CoolGen will be officially unveiled at the 2026 NFPA Conference & Expo June 22-24 in Las Vegas, a premier event for fire, electrical, and life safety.
The launch expands Firetrace's growing portfolio of fire protection technologies and provides customers with a new environmentally friendly suppression option that delivers rapid fire protection without leaving residue, damaging sensitive electronics, or requiring extensive post-discharge cleanup.
"Electrical equipment continues to power more of the world's critical infrastructure, but it also introduces fire risks that are often overlooked until it's too late," said Brian Cashion, Vice President, Engineering and Quality at Firetrace International. "CoolGen gives customers a new way to protect these assets with clean, effective nitrogen suppression technology that is easy to deploy, maintain, and restore after an event."
Introducing Firetrace CoolGen
Firetrace CoolGen uses nitrogen generation technology to suppress fires through oxygen reduction. Upon activation, the non-pressurized system generates and discharges nitrogen gas at ambient temperature, helping protect both equipment and personnel while avoiding the residue and cleanup associated with many alternative suppression technologies.
The CoolGen portfolio includes two distinct offerings:

Firetrace CoolGen™ – A flexible, cost-effective suppression solution designed for a wide range of electrical applications. CoolGen utilizes linear heat detection and provides flexible mounting and installation options.

Firetrace CoolGen Max™ – A premium all-in-one solution that combines suppression, control, activation, and aspirating smoke detection in a single platform. CoolGen Max delivers rapid deployment, advanced diagnostics, integrated safety controls, and scalable protection for larger applications.
Key Benefits
- No residue and no cleanup after discharge
- Nitrogen-based suppression that is environmentally friendly
- Room-temperature discharge that is safe for sensitive equipment
- Reduced maintenance compared to pressurized cylinder systems
- Rapid generator replacement following activation
- Flexible installation and mounting configurations
- Protection for applications up to 36 m³
- Advanced smoke detection and safety controls available with CoolGen Max
